The Circus!

Jared got tickets to the circus through his work, and we were excited to go. We decided to go to the Saturday evening showing since the afternoon ones were during Paxton's nap. It started at 7:30 and we really weren't expecting much from Paxton. He hates being still and loves throwing things, neither of which are ideal for a packed arena. We got there a little early for some pictures:





We went to our seats just a few minutes before it started so Paxton didn't have to sit still for any additional time. We were well-prepared with snacks and juice, but we ended up not needing them. He loved it! The opening scene captured his attention, and he watched a ton of it. He had his own seat but didn't spend a lot of time in it. He mostly sat on our laps. There were a few times where he wanted to turn around and smile at the people behind us, but overall he really enjoyed it. He especially liked the elephants (he kept calling them doggies) and the jugglers. After each act, the audience would clap and cheer and he would clap, it was hilarious. We really couldn't believe how good he was! We ended up leaving at intermission because he was getting super sleepy and we didn't want to have to maneuver the stroller and the diaper bag and everything in the dark once it started back. I think if the show had started a little earlier, he would have made it through happily.


As we were leaving, we were already talking about how excited we were to bring him next year. We think he'll enjoy it even more and I'm secretly hoping he asks for one of those spinning light-up toys. He's getting so big and it really is fun!
