Riding into the sunset

The nursery became one step closer to being complete.  Since Paxton can sleep in a drawer, and be changed on the floor, not even the crib, changing table or dresser can replace Midnight.

Midnight is a rocking horse that was made by my grandfather, BG, about 55 years ago.  He made it for my Uncle Jimmy, who was their firstborn.

Midnight became a permanent fixture for every Miller boy.  He was passed down to my Dad next.

After my Dad had grown out of him, he was passed around to numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.  But, Midnight made his way back to the Miller household and became a favorite toy to both of my brothers and myself.

A lot of my childhood memories come from time spent at Granny Pat and B.G.'s house.  And of all those times, I can always remember Midnight being there.  And after 15 years he now he has purpose again.  Instead of being stored away in a garage, he can once again fill the memories of another kid.

OH MY GOSH...YOU ARE THE CUTEST THING EVER!

Well the comments from random strangers officially started this week.  Saturday was my first one.  I was starting to think I just looked chubby and not pregnant but I guess I popped last week.
We were at Home Depot when my first stranger comment occurred.  The cashier looked at me and said "When are you due?"  I told her and it turns out she is pregnant too, due about a month after me.  Since then, four more people have made comments, from a stranger at Braum's to a lady that used my pregnancy to try to get me to adopt a greyhound at the dog park.  But my favorite was the lady in the elevator at work.
Today after I got off work, I was riding the elevator down to meet Jared.  The elevator stopped on the 12th floor and the doors opened and a lady boards.  She looks at me and her eyes widen as she screams "OH MY GOSH, YOU ARE THE CUTEST THING EVER!!"  She then fills the rest of the ride down asking questions about the pregnancy and telling me that pregnant women are her favorite things ever.  She loves the glow, and the magic of the life growing inside.  I really just felt like laughing the whole time, but she was completely serious.  I'm definitely not used to this much stranger attention.

In other news, we made a ton of progress on the nursery this week.  We built the crib and painted the dresser and even hung some pictures.  I'm sure we will post pictures when it's finished...which will hopefully be later this weekend.  We're so grateful to all of our family and friends that have filled up the nursery.  We are so lucky!

I just realized that we never posted pictures from the re-shoot of the 3D/4D ultrasound, so here's little Paxton in 3D:

I think this one is the sweetest picture ever....this is how I picture him sleeping in his crib:

Here's a big yawn from the little guy:
It's kinda hard to see but if you look right in the middle if the picture, that dark spot is his open mouth:
Maybe I'm biased but I'm pretty sure that's the cutest baby ever.  And I only have 4 more weekends to get ready for him.....

A Showering of Gifts

So, we had Paxton's shower this weekend.  Some braved the weather and made it out, others were not able to.

But that didn't stop a continuous flow of presents for the little guy.  Of course, as soon as we got home this happened:

Caitlynne calls it nesting.  I call it Caitlynne dumping everything out.  Of course he got a lot of clothes.

He got a lot of other stuff as well.  My favorite?  My Mom still had my first teddy bear that was given to me by BG's sister, my Great Aunt Wanda.  She cleaned him up, and replaced the voice box.  She included a note with his brief history including the his smashed nose is because I used to use him as a pillow.

There were several things he got that were a blast from our past.  The kind of things you want your kid to enjoy that you also enjoyed growing up.

As you can tell, he has started a stuffed animal collection including a classic favorite, Max from The Grinch that Stole Christmas.

And, like his Mom he has started a shoe collection.

Some people got pretty creative with custom made stuff including the bedding which Caitlynne's Mom made.

Our good friends Ryan and Tabatha started his OU collection off nicely with his first football and a board book explaining everything a baby should know about Sooner Land.

But, we got the most important thing of all:
