TWO MONTHS!

Porter is two months old today!

-He is only going about 4 hours at night. He sleeps swaddled on his Boppy in his bassinet next to our bed. We are putting Gripe Water in his nighttime bottles because he was having a hard time going back to sleep after feedings and would grunt loudly and fuss after his early morning feeding. The gripe water seemed to help and he usually goes right back to sleep after he eats.

-He has moved up to 3 month clothes.

-He started smiling the day before 6 weeks and will smile at us if he is happy after he eats. He eats every 2.5-3 hours during the day and is much less fussy after eating since I cut out all caffeine. He still cries when he isn't being held a lot of the time, but every once in awhile he will take a nap on his own or chill in the Boppy. He has also started to like the swing for short periods of time.

-He still has some baby acne...even though we are washing his face every night with Cetaphil. He still takes his pacifier but he is definitely trying to find his thumb. He has started watching Paxton a lot.

Since Paxton was never big on cuddling, I always said I wanted my next baby to be a cuddler. I definitely got what I wanted. Even though a lot of the time I need to be cleaning up our messy house, I am enjoying the baby cuddles while I can. It is crazy that I doubted my ability to love another baby as much as I love Paxton. This guy was the perfect addition to our family!

Happy Father's Day!

I knew when I married Jared that he would be an amazing father. I had watched him with his little sister and other miscellaneous kids we had been around as we were dating. I knew he was fun, I knew he was careful, I knew he was sweet. What I didn't know was how much more I would fall in love with him as I watched him with our babies.

Happy Father's Day Jared. We are so lucky that you're ours. We love you so much.

And seriously, how lucky am I to have married a guy that looks at our sons with this much love? I couldn't find one picture of Jared with either boy where he wasn't beaming with pride or looking down at them with complete adoration. These are two very lucky little boys.

Matching

Ever since we found out Porter was a boy, I have been looking everywhere for matching outfits. Apparently since Paxton is in toddler sizes now, there aren't a lot of outfits that are the same in toddler sizes and infant sizes. Enter Target. Target has a few onesies in baby sizes that match shirts in toddler sizes. Unfortunately, most of the onesies are bigger than newborn size. One night I was shopping at Target with Gramsy and the aunts and I was determined to find matching outfits. The only thing we could find in a 2T and a newborn was a coral outfit with a weird looking monster...I wasn't in love with it but Gramsy insisted. I'm glad she did because look at the adorableness that followed:

Paxton got to feed Porter his bottle for the first time.

Then he leaned in for a kiss.

I don't know what it is but I can't get enough of seeing these two together.

A Walk to the Park

While Jared was out running errands a few evenings ago, I decided to take the boys to the park. It's only two blocks from our house, so I decided to let Paxton walk this time instead of riding in the stroller.

He loved the freedom.

This kid went from hating the slide to being a serious slider in just a few days four months ago. Now the slide is his favorite thing.

Daddy came and met us at the park after he finished up. Pax was excited to see him.

And then when it was time to go home, this happened:

My Two Little Boys

Paxton loves to try on Daddy's shoes every chance he gets:

This is my new favorite picture of Pax. I think he looks huge! And the bruise on his forehead is perfect because he constantly has some kind of bump or bruise. As soon as this one healed he hit his head at the park and got a new one.

Porter is starting to be awake more now. He smiled for the first time at Jared yesterday (6/2).

Daddy/son bonding time:

He is pretty sweet when he's asleep:

Brothers

This series of pictures is exactly what I pictured when I tried to imagine Paxton as a big brother before Porter was born. They aren't anything fancy...just iPhone pictures on our living room rug with Pax in his pajamas and Porter in a too-small onesie but they capture exactly how Paxton feels about Porter. He is crazy about his brother and never misses a chance to give him a kiss. After each kiss he always says his version of "you're such a good brother" (which is really "da da da da dada".

I hope he always feels this way about his little brother and that as Porter grows up he loves Paxton just as much. I was so excited for Paxton when I found out Porter was a boy because I wanted them to have a special relationship. I want Paxton to always protect Porter and for Porter to want to be just like Paxton. I want them to always rely on each other.
