Columbia, SC

Jared had to go to Columbia, SC for work and when we found out he had a hotel room, we decided to tag along. We left Sunday around lunchtime. We stopped and grabbed a late lunch, but Porter was too sleepy.
There was an Ikea on the way and we had never been, so I knew I wanted to stop.

After we checked in, we made the mistake of asking Paxton what he wanted for dinner. Of course we ended up at Cici's.
Paxton loves hotels so much. He loves taking on the phone, swimming in the pool and eating breakfast there. When he heard there was an indoor pool, he was really excited.
He has gotten so confident in the water this summer. He will jump in all by himself and go under water and then swim to the ladder.

Porter thinks he's a big kid and wanted nothing to do with his float. He wanted to jump off the side like Paxton and swim around.
On Monday, Jared had to leave early for his meeting, so the boys and I went to Cracker Barrell. We rocked...
And played the peg game...
And ate some tasty food.
It was my first time to take both boys to a sit-down restaurant by myself and it went pretty well. They did great and ate well.

After lunch, we wanted to go to the zoo but it was rainy. Instead we went to Frankie's Fun Park. They had a playground for kids that we were hoping to play on, but it was closed for some reason so we just walked around and pretended to play games.
After Frankie's, the boys and I hit the road. We stopped at Target about halfway back to stretch our legs. As we were walking through the toy section, Porter started screaming "baby baby baby" at the top of his lungs. I looked around to see what he meant and saw a little box of dolls. As I tried to walk past, he got really upset and was shrieking "BABY" so he got a baby...
He loves it.

It was a fun trip and the stop at Ikea made it worth it for me. Paxton said the pool was the highlight for him. It was my first road trip alone with the boys and it was great. They were awesome in the car.
