Just an Ordinary Day

I just wanted to document a typical day at home with just Paxton and me. I picked a day where we didn't have any errands to run or anything to do. In fact, it was a day that was supposed to be a snow day, and we were hoping Jared would be stuck at home with us. Instead, it mostly just rained and the roads were perfectly clear.

Paxton woke up at about 9:00 like usual. After we rocked for a few seconds and he drank some milk, I changed his diaper and we came in the living room to have breakfast and watch Mickey.

He is fascinated with coffee mugs and always lightly touches them and says "hooooot".

We had donuts and bananas for breakfast. When Mickey was over, he waved bye bye to the TV instead of saying again like he usually does (not that he usually gets to watch two Mickeys, but usually he at least asks and sometimes throws a fit), so we went in his room to play.

He is climbing on everything right now. He loves to climb onto things and then stand up and hold his arms out for me to get him down.

Then he spent some time with his car that he has FINALLY learned how to ride. He got it for Christmas last year so for over a year now, he has been climbing on it and then just sitting for a few seconds and then climbing off. I was pretty excited when he finally got it down.

Then he flipped the car and did some work on it.

After that, he started asking to go outside. I knew it was super wet and muddy, but not cold at all. He doesn't have any rain boots, so I wasn't sure how we were going to manage the whole going outside thing. He insisted so I put him in some shorts and his crocs. It definitely wasn't a classy outfit, but it did the trick.

He loved playing in the mud. Of course when we came in, he had to go straight to the bath...

Then it was lunchtime. He had PB&J, peas, mandarin oranges and a few pretzels.

As soon as he is finished with lunch, he says "night night" and "light off" and wants to go turn his light off and go to sleep. So that's what we did.

After his nap, we played some more and he experimented with lots of different ways to use his chair.

The trampoline is his favorite way.

Then he learned a new word: elephant.

I was pretty excited about that one.

He had a quick snack and played in the kitchen while i made brownies and we waited for Daddy to come home.

As soon as Jared calls me to tell me he's on his way home, Paxton starts yelling for him and waiting by the garage door. Today, we were all dressed anyway and were planning on leaving to eat dinner with Gramsy right after Jared got home so we waited outside. He gets so excited when Daddy comes home.

We went to Gramsy's for pizza and brownies, and stopped by the library and Braum's on the way home.

When we got home, Pax got his jammies on and ran around in Daddy's hat. This is one of his favorite games right now.

Then he took some selfies with my phone.

At 8:30 we all headed into his room to clean up and play for a few more minutes. I got his milk ready and Jared held him up to turn his light off. If Jared isn't in the room when it's time for him to turn the light off, Pax will run down the hall yelling for him. He knows that's Daddy's job which I think is adorable.

I rocked him and sang to him while he drank his milk for a few minutes. Then he says "night night" and gives me a kiss and I put him in bed.
