Growing Up

As Paxton gets closer to turning one, he is starting to do a lot of things that make him seem more grown up.

He does things like:

-decide he's thirsty, crawl across the room to his sippy cup and drink it. All without help.

-eat toddler meals. This was (supposed to be) his first time to not eat baby food for lunch. He had green beans, toast with jelly and cheese. He threw most of it on the floor and ended up eating Puffs and baby food carrots.

-get off his car by himself...it's just as dangerous as it looks.

-eat big kid food at restaurants. Today at Hideaway he ate almost an entire slice of pizza...and he was very serious about it.

-plays with toys correctly. He is at a mimicking stage right now, so we've been showing him how to play with his toys correctly, and he will watch and then do it on his own. Now, instead of just dumping this out and throwing the shapes around the living room, he will sit and place each piece inside and then dump it out and start over.

-has fun playing at the park. He loooooves the swings, but he also likes crawling through tubes. He's not sure about sliding yet, but I'm sure he'll love it soon.

He's at such a fun age right now. He loves watching us and trying to copy us, and he loves making us laugh. I can't believe how fast he is growing up!
